My name is Sascha Sandtner and I was born in 1976 with roots in the USA and Germany. My profession is to work as a Senior IT Business Consultant. I will be returning to the Grand to Grand Ultra Marathon in Kanab, Utah, because I did not finish in 2016 due to an injury because of hitting a rock very badly while running and to keep my promise I gave James Raffone to support his son respectively organization JAR of Hope.
In the same year I met James Raffone during the G2G and he told me about his son Jamesy, suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Supporting James’ mission finding cure for his son was my new aim from that moment on and I made it a personal thing, because I am a father of a little boy too and I can feel with James. Within the last 2 years James became a role model and he deserves the highest amount of respect for what he is doing.
My motivation is unbreakable and my will is beyond the 170 miles line. So it was clear that there is no way to not support JAR of Hope.
Everyday I see my little son playing and running around being healthy is the melting pot of motivation for me to support the ones in need as I consider it as a message and statement beyond everything we just believe is important in life.
Going back to the Grand Canyon is not only an event. It is a personal statement, a war, a clear message to the world, support and a goal worth to fight for and to find a cure. Being supported by my family, friends, coworkers, GSG-9, my gym and many others I have a clear order as a member and ambassador of Team Jamesy 24/7. Please support us raising money saving a young boys life and become a part of something bigger as a life saver. We need everybody!
