On November 6th i’ll be running my 5th marathon, 3rd New York City marathon. This year’s NYC marathon means more to me than any of the others because i’ll be running in honor to raise money for “JAR of Hope.” Jar of Hope is a charity raising money for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I recently learned about this disease when I met James Raffone a couple months ago at Golds Gym. He came to the gym running a push-up contest. 10 push-ups for $10, in honor of his son who unfortunalty is suffering from this awful disease. I was extremely touched by his story and the passion he had for finding a way to stop this disease that I wanted to help in any way possible. I had approached him after the contest letting him know that i’m running the marathon again this year and was actually looking for a charity to run for. It’s always great to make crossing the finish line count so much more.
