Last year .. I ran the G2G Ultra (7 days, 170 mile self-supported ultra-marathon thru the Grand Canyon) with James Raffone & Team Jamesy for JAR of Hope to raise awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I was one of the fortunate members of TeamJamesy that finished the race and truthfully with the mindset that this was to be my finale. I even threw out my shoes after the race while still in Utah…

Jim unfortunately suffered a serious medical emergency preventing him from completing the event. Not soon after, Jim expressed a desire to attempt it again. Fearing for Jim’s safety I strongly advised him against doing so. Despite those cautions Jim’s determination to overcome this obstacle, and correlate it toward his relentless pursuit to save his son’s life against all odds has never been more evident. Jim is willing to risk his own life to raise awareness and save his son’s life. As a father, I understand, and if I put myself in his shoes would do the same, if it provided an opportunity to beat the odds and save my child’s life.

After much consideration, I’ve decided to join Jim and see to it that he makes it across that finish line, and help in his campaign to save his son’s life and raise awareness in the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Its time to buy another pair of sneakers.

If anyone would like to join me in this effort and show support for Jim, his son Jamesy, all children suffering from Duchenne, please consider a tax deductible donation to help me support JAR of Hope. Thank you.
