My name is Jamie and I am an SGX Coach at Hybrid Fitness Training. I have been in the fitness industry for over 10 years. I enjoy what I do and strive to help my clients achieve their goals and have fun doing it. I hope that most will enjoy it as much as I do. I believe we should push ourselves in everything we do. Over the past two years, I have fallen for a new passion in running OCR Races. These races allow me and others to push our body’s to the ultimate limits mentally and physically.
2017 will be different however as I won’t be running just for myself, but for a purpose. I have been selected to be the 1st female runner JAR of Hope (an organization dedicated to eliminate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy) They have sponsored me to run Spartan Races for children, especially for girls who cannot run on their own.
My goal is to run enough Spartan Races to obtain the Triple Trifecta. Along the way I hope to raise $5,000.00 for JAR of Hope this running season.
Why am I doing this? As a child I was diagnosed with scoliosis, a treatable condition in which I underwent back surgery at the age of 15. I continue to push past limits genetics has imposed upon me and hope to help do the same for those children living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Right now, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a terminal disease with little research behind it. I hope to help create awareness and funding for research to possibly find a cure.
