My name is Andy Salamone. I am a Wisconsin native that moved to Los Angeles in 1999. A few years back I started a company called MyBand which is a full access forearm armband for your smartphone. Being thrust into the fitness world I heard about stage races and in 2015 I completed my first ultra stage race (4 Deserts Atacama Chile) and was hooked. I met James at the G2G stage race the following year. His passion for his family came across instantly. He spoke to us all before the race about his son and JAR OF Hope. Then got over 160 people to do ten push ups in unison. Wanting to help right then and there, we spoke briefly and planned to exchange info after the race. Getting injured that next day I didn’t get another chance to speak to James. However, his mission and passion stuck in my mind and I touched base via Facebook to send a donation to JAR OF Hope. With his kindness, he offered me a spot on the G2G JAR OF Hope team and was honored for the invite. Not only for the opportunity to complete the challenge but to be a part of something bigger than just a race. Something with real purpose that will help so many young boys. I am so excited and honored to bring awareness to JAR OF Hope and together help raise the funds needed to find a cure as soon as possible. One step at a time we will travel great distances. Many Thanks.
